Friday Afternoon Report

I was staring at Sarah today, like I do every day, and I just can't get over this little girls strong will and determination. Watching her accomplishments and milestones, I remind myself often that we are so lucky to be witnessing this. Watching a baby that is supposed to be in my belly grow right before my eyes is something I will cherish forever. Every challenge we give her, she rises to the occasion. Good work Sarah!

She is tolerating her feedings well and they are going to increase to 4 mL's starting with the 8pm feeding tonight. Sarah was a bit fussy and upon some clever detective work we found a poopy diaper to be the culprit. After Sarah got cleaned up she returned to normal sats and went back to sleep. After I washed up, I put my finger up to her little mouth and she began to suck on my finger. The feeling of my little girl sucking on my finger and her little tongue rubbing against my skin was something amazing. It made my heart flutter. I look forward to the day I can hold her and feel her skin against mine.

Hi Erica,
When we brought Katherine home, we put her in the middle of a king-size bed. My hospital luggage was next to her. When we checked back in on her after eating lunch, we noticed that she was sucking on the corner of my luggage! I felt terrible thinking how dirty the luggage might have been. I think your tale of newborn suckling is SO much sweeter. Such a little miracle! Glad to hear such joyous stories.

Sending love and best wishes,

Rosemary, Jay, Katherine, Margaret and Charlie.

Here's to Sarah! Cheers and Happy Birthday. Now grow

She has been a fighter since day one. She really has. Look at all she has had to go through and she is still there and doing well. You have a feisty one on your hands! Watch out for her! :) She does seem to like her "binki"!!!! She is using her hands well to grab at it and try to keep it in...totally amazing for 30 weeks G.A. !!!!!

Erika...
Thank you for the privilege of being with you and Sarah yesterday. Watching you mothering your little girl is like watching a flower bloom. You are both so very strong. Of course, you too, Rog!

Dear Ericka and Roger,

Finally! I finally figured out how to write on your blog and I've tried a few times. (I guess I'm a little technically challenged.)

I just wanted to tell you two how beautiful your little miracle is, and how lucky you are to have her and she is to have you! :)

Thanks for all the updates on sweet little Sarah!

Love, Great Auntie Gina and Family

P.S. "Hello" to all my sisters, who were able to figure out who to post on this blog...I've been reading your comments! :)
