It's nice to be back home and able to be with Sarah again. I missed her so much, and so much happened while I was gone. She looks absolutely fantastic, and her progress has everyone, including her doctors and nurses and RTs, amazed!
We knew it would happen, and her weight did drop down again. She's 640 grams. But that's okay, because we know where the weight went. She took three (3!!!!) big poops overnight. Even I don't poo three times a night (most nights! j/k)...
I spoke with Dr. Banks for a few minutes this morning, and he said we are just going to continue to watch her feedings and increase them periodically. That's about all there is to do now, as she just needs food food food to grow grow grow.
Erika will hopefully Kangaroo again today and tomorrow, and then on Saturday I will get my first chance. I'm so excited!

Good morning Roger, Erika and Sarah. I want to post a thank you to my dear friend, Loretta, and to her group of "nursie" friends, especially Hope (I love the Stim Quilt!). Loretta and her group (all who are NICU angels in one capacity or another) have given me encouragement and reassurance with each step Sarah has taken... even the ones that were steps backwards. Their words and knowledge have allowed me to exhale and enjoy my role as Grandma. The knowledge passed on to Erika and Roger has put them at ease many times. I can't thank you all enough. I love you, Loretta; and as we have always said, any friend of yours is a friend of mine!
Hopefully I will be there on Saturday when you get to hold your lovely little muffin daughter for the first time! Can't wait to see her then.
I'm not even going to write a comment because Roger already knows what I want to say. :)
Such a beautiful baby, such a happy family, sigh.
Roger and Erika--
I know how much you have longed for this day to come, congratulations on the first family photo! What a beautiful family you are! Robert suggested some special non-stick gloves for Roger, but I'm a little worried that Roger might melt when he holds Sarah for the first time!
Love you all,
Elisabeth
I meant non-slip gloves.
Oh, whatever...Elisabeth
what a beautiful family picture this couldn't be more beautiful no matter what artist did it. The baby is getting to have a personality, i can see it all over her little sweet face. also your captions are quite creative, we could have a contest for picture captions. And Roger, can you imagine what i must have done on my side to have so many languages in front of me. it seemed to resolve itself.
love & kisses
good night beauty,

Sara looks so great! I can't get over these great big strides she's making! Go Team Rees!
